Sony unveils two new Xperia smartphones

Xperia Acro S and Xperia Go are Android-powered, water resistant smartphones

Sony Mobile Communications (Sony Mobile) has introduced two new water resistance smartphones: Xperia go and Xperia acro S, powered by Google's Android.

The new Xperia smartphones comes preloaded with Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited from Sony Entertainment Network and features scratch resistant mineral glass displays.

The company claims that the new products will meet the industry standard IP ratings for protection against dust and water immersion.

Sony Xperia go and Xperia acro S will offer easy connectivity to share and enjoy content on TV, smartphone, laptop or tablet.

Xperia go will be launched on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with an upgradeable option to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

The smartphone features a 1Ghz dual core processor, 3.5" Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine for sharp clarity and 5MP fast capture camera as well as sports a scratch resistant mineral glass display with wet finger tracking.

Xperia acro S is NFC enabled that will open applications with one touch against an Xperia SmartTag.

The smartphone is PlayStation certified and features a 4.3" HD Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine, full HD video recording, HD video chat and easy HDMI TV connectivity.

The NFC enabled smartphone also sports Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), 1.5Ghz dual core processor and a 12MP fast capture camera that switches from sleep to snap in quick time with a single key press.
