Samsung to launch 5.8 inch Android smartphone in Europe: report

The smartphone is expected to run on Android 4.1.2/4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

Samsung Electronics is planning to launch a new Android smartphone, dubbed Galaxy Fonblet 5.8, in Europe, reports suggest.

The smartphone is expected to run on Android 4.1.2/4.2.1 Jelly Bean featuring a 5.8-inch display and TFT touchscreen with resolution of 960x540p.

Galaxy Fonblet will be a dual-SIM smartphone and features a 3 Megapixel camera and Bluetooth 4.0.

Recently, Samsung released the updates of Android 4.1, Jelly Bean for Wi-Fi versions of Galaxy Note10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 devices.

Earlier this month, Samsung's Galaxy S series passed the 1 million sales mark and reached over 24 million global channel shipments.

Samsung expects to post an operating profit of $8.3bn in the fourth quarter of 2012 and sales to be above $51.8bn.

The company anticipates to launch the Galaxy IV in the second quarter of this year, in hopes to retain its lead in smartphone shipments.
