The vulnerability issue have been seen in devices powered by Samsung's own processors.
Samsung is currently developing a software update to deal with a vulnerability in its Galaxy smartphones and tablets that would allow malicious software, or malware, to target the core operations of the chip that powers them.
According to the firm, the vulnerability issue is seen in smartphones and tablets that are powered by Samsung's own Exynos-4 processors, and is tied to the way that the camera in the devices work together with the processor and software.
Samsung said in a statement to Android Central that it has probed the potential security issue and re-states that the issue may arise only when a malicious application is operated on the affected devices; however, this does not affect most devices operating credible and authenticated applications.
"Nonetheless, Samsung will be releasing a software update to address it as quickly as possible," the company's statement said.
Since the vulnerability was noticed, certain third-party firms have already started offering software that fix it.
