Email and IM services on Nokia mobiles.

Nokia has launched Nokia Messaging, which is claimed to mobilize consumer email and consumer instant messaging services on Nokia devices.

According to the company, the Nokia Messaging is expected to give consumers access to email and instant messaging (IM) accounts from Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail and Google Talk, and AOL Mail as well as email services from various ISPs on the majority of Nokia devices.

Nokia Messaging is an email application that's been designed to support mobile email. To set-up the email account - all users have to enter are their email address and password, and emails are seamlessly pushed to their mobile device.

Nokia also introduced the online portal for Mail on Ovi, which is expected to enable PC users to create and access Ovi email accounts as well as gain cross access to other Ovi services with a single sign-on account.

Tom Furlong, senior vice president of consumer messaging, services and software at Nokia, said: With Nokia Messaging, our customers can simply and affordably gain mobile access to the world's most popular email and IM accounts. We are making mobile messaging an affordable experience for everyone, not just for those with specialized phones designed for messaging, but for everyone with a Nokia device.
