Navdom to deploy Enforas wireless platform

CBR Staff Writer Published 15 December 2008

Spanish insurance company to implement Navdom's mobile tracking system

Enfora, a supplier of intelligent wireless networking systems, has announced that Navdom, a supplier of mobile resource management services, will deploy its Spider Mobile Tracker wireless platform in a mobile tracking system for an insurance company in Spain.

The Spider MT-Gu is a type approved quad-band, GSM/GPRS/GPS and IP-based wireless tracking platform. Its system can be deployed in multiple markets and geographies with a single design. The Spider MT-Gu makes use of Enfora's Services Gateway middleware, bringing together the key hardware and software elements required to develop IT applications.

The Navdom system will monitor real-time driver mileage, speed and location, enabling the insurance company to reduce customer premiums based on driver habits and behavior. Visibility and access to such data will allow for more accurate premium calculations, thus increasing competitiveness for the company. The system also increases driver security with the use of a panic button feature that is enabled on the Spider platform.

Martin Acosta, director of operations at Navdom, said: This is a significant win for Navdom. For this win it was essential that we had a platform that could handle the complexity of our requirements. Enfora's reputation in this sector, and the robustness and proven reliability of its track and trace offering, were key factors in the selection process.
