J&B Software, a provider of document management solutions, has selected mobile imaging software provider Mitek Systems's ImageNet mobile deposit application to provide mobile remote deposit capture functionality for J&B's remote image capture solution.
Mitek's mobile deposit's check 21 compliant solution adds mobile remote deposit capture (RDC) functionality to J&B's remote image capture software, allowing checks to be deposited from an end user's camera equipped mobile phone. This combined solution will provide J&B's customers with quicker availability to funds and adds an extra level of convenience by converting a camera-equipped mobile phone into a handheld check reader, said Mitek.
Mitek claims that the addition of mobile deposit will potentially bring instantaneous capture capabilities to the 30 million people in the US who have cameras on their cell phones.
Jim McShea, executive vice president of J&B Software, said: "J&B selected Mitek's mobile deposit product to extend our reach to include RDC through the mobile phone. Our combined product will be a strategic tool for financial, commercial, logistics and retail industries to help facilitate check transaction processing quickly while out in the field."
Jim DeBello, president and CEO of Mitek Systems, said: "As a leader in payment software with over 160 customers J&B is an excellent partner to help bring the power of Mobile Deposit to thousands of customers in different industries and potentially millions of mobile phone users who can benefit from mobile RDC. This combined offering provides the best in payment software for mobile professionals on the road."
