Huawei unveils two new smartphones

Huawei unveiled two new smartphones at the 2013 Consumer Electronics show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The two new smartphones include Ascend Mate, which features a 6.1-inch screen, and Ascend D2, with 5.5-inch HD screen.

The company said that Ascend Mate has a screen-to-body ratio of 73%, which it claims is the highest in the industry.

Ascend Mate features a 4050 mAh battery, Hi-Silicon 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and has a resolution of 1280 x 720.

Ascend Mate also features an 8-megapixel AF rear-facing camera with HDR and 1-megapixel HD front-facing camera.

Ascend D2 features a 13MP BSI rear-facing camera and a 5-inch Super Retina fast response IPS panel display with a resolution of about 1920 x 1080.

Huawei said that it plans to produce Ascend D2 in a 4.7-inch screen version in the future.

The company will start selling Ascend Mate in China from February this year, while Ascend D2 will be on sale starting this month.

In December 2012, Huawei launched its 2nd-generation solid state storage system, OceanStor Dorado2100 G2.
