Gameloft to develop games for Android platform

Gameloft, a France-based developer and publisher of video games on mobile phones and consoles, plans to develop 10 plus games for Android, an open source mobile platform. Bubble Bash is expected to be the first title scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2009.

According to the company, Android is an open mobile platform that incorporates multimedia features and supports handsets for mobile gaming. According to Gameloft, its development team has created a line-up for the platform, with several titles available at the launch of Android's paid application offerings.
