Follows similar ruling in UK
A Dutch court has ruled that Samsung's Galaxy tablets do not infringe Apple's patented design technology on its iPad tablet.
The Hague district court, citing the earlier ruling by the UK courts in 2012, found that the rounded corners of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, and 7.7 have not violated Apple's patents.
Reuters cited Samsung as saying: "We continue to believe that Apple was not the first to design a tablet with a rectangular shape and rounded corners and that the origins of Apple's registered design features can be found in numerous examples."
In October 2012, Apple lost the patent case against Samsung at the UK High Court in London, during which the iPhone maker argued that Samsung tablets infringed its rounded rectangle design.
In August 2012, a South Korean court ruled that both the firms have violated each other's mobile computing patents and barred sales of some of their products in the country. However, Apple won $1.051bn in a patent suit against Samsung.
Apple and Samsung are involved in several patent disputes in about 10 countries as they compete to win customers for their latest devices in the profitable mobile market.
