CPNI integrates mobile commerce software with Sun's Java CAPS

Composite Application Platform Suite is a lightweight and extensible SOA platform

Canada-based CPNI, a provider of mobile financial services to banks, has announced that it will offer financial institutions the integration of its Phone Authorized Transfer, or PAT, mobile commerce software with Sun Microsystem's Java Composite Application Platform Suite.

According to CPNI, Java Composite Application Platform Suite (CAPS) is a lightweight and extensible SOA platform that lets users add and integrate components in a modular fashion. Users are able to leverage existing and new IT investments to create an infrastructure that is more agile and better aligned with the needs of their organizations, the company said.

CPNI has said that its mobile commerce software, designed for financial institutions, provides a set of mobile payment and mobile banking solutions. PATsend allows people to send money to other people anywhere in the world by entering the recipient's phone number on their mobile phone.
