Citrix helps BOCC go online with client meetings

How did the web design company reduce its car mileage expenditure?

Web development, design and digital media production agency, the Big Oxford Computer (BOCC), could reduce the business trips of its team of 15 consultants, by deploying Citrix’s online collaboration tool GoToMeeting.

GoToMeeting enables the consultants to hold online meetings with clients from across geographies, to update them about the projects, answer their queries and present the completed works. The consultants can also share their computer screens with clients. This means that they can guide customers through an application.

Mark Hall, managing director of the BOCC, said: “Communicating web design concepts and demonstrating new applications to clients was difficult to do over the phone and GoToMeeting has given us much greater collaboration capability to ensure quality throughout our project process.”

Established in 1995, the BOCC specialises in visual, interface and web design, digital media production, web development and the hosting of interactive websites and applications backed up by disaster recovery facilities. Its clients include the Oxford City Council, Charter Housing Community, Metropolitan Police, NHS Employers, Oxford Radcliffe Hospital NHS Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support and more.

Citrix says that GoToMeeeting has enabled the BOCC cut down on car mileage expenditure of its employees by 50%. Hall said: “We have significantly reduced travel to face to face meetings, thereby improving employee productivity and minimising our carbon footprint. Increased contact with our clients and more constructive interactions have definitely enhanced our customer relationships.” 

With GoToMeeting, the BOCC can share documents in real-time; instantly change presenters; use drawing tools to draw, highlight and point to items on the screen; record meetings to review or share later; and choose integrated free phone conferencing and VoIP.

In November this year, NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) has deployed GoToMeeting to enable its 6,000 employees across 100 sites meet online and to provide training to its staff in the use of Knowledge and Skills Framework online tool.
